KIM'S REVIEW~ANTI-STEPBROTHER by Tijan

WOW! Anti-Stepbrother was everything I had envisioned it to be and so much more. Tijan did not disappoint! Once again she hit the mark.

Anti-Stepbrother is a stand-alone and is told mostly in the heroine's POV. It was invigorating, refreshing and enslaving. I was totally engrossed from start to finish and Tijan had me hooked from the very first page. I love this author. Every book she writes shackles me, so my 5 Star rating is no surprise. Her writing style is remarkable and often duplicated. If Tijan releases a book, you can bank on me reading it!!

The heroine was hilariously funny, sweet and loyal.
The hero was sexy, pretentious and a loving brother who will melt your heart. I've added another book boyfriend to my list!!!

I'm not going to go into too much detail because this is a book you need to read on your own.

I highly recommend everyone read this one. I give Anti-Stepbrother 5 Crazie Stars!!!

KIM'S REVIEW~LOGAN KADE by Tijan

Logan Kade, by Tijan, is part of  the Fallen Crest Series. It's sensual, raw, and utterly addictive. I devoured this book.  DEVOURED!!!  It can be read as a standalone, but in order  to get the ultimate effect, I highly recommend that you read her prior books in this series first.

Tijan is by far one of my favorite authors. Her writing style is solid, powerful and compelling. She lures you in, and then you're hooked. Her characters are unique, complex, and incredibly fascinating. Logan and Mason Kade are two of my all time favorite characters. I will never get enough of them. I will always want more!

When I first heard that Logan was getting his own book, I was so excited and nervous at the same time. I knew that Logan was supposedly getting a love interest, and I didn't know how I felt about that. I love Mason and Sam together...I crave them. But, I crave Logan right along with them...'The Fearsome Threesome'- I was honestly a little jealous of the thought of him falling in love.  Selfish I know, but those were my feelings.

Tijan did it though. She pulled it off for me. I was ecstatic with how it all unfolded. I will not go into much with my review, because it's a book that you need to experience all on your own.

Tijan is undeniably one of the best authors out there. I definitely recommend Logan Kade, as well as, the entire Fallen Crest Series. Without a doubt, one of the best series ever written!!

I give Logan Kade 5 Crazie Sex Machine Stars!!!~Kim

KIM'S REVIEW~DIRTY by Kylie Scott

I'm a huge fan of Kylie Scott and her Stage Dive Series so I went into this book with huge
expectations.  Even though I did enjoy this book, I didn't fall in love with it like I did her Stage Dive Series. I was ready for angst, angst, and more angst
but I didn't get that...but what I did get was a fun refreshing read.

Dirty is a book you just have to read for yourself.  If you are a fan of Kylie Scott, I'm sure you're gonna really love this book.  Oh, and I have to mention that my favorite character from the Stage Dive Series makes an appearance in this book...HECK YES!!!! And because of that, I added half a star!!!

I give Dirty 4 Crazie Stars!!! ~Kim

KIM'S REVIEW~MY PERFECT MISTAKE by Kelly Siskind

My Perfect Mistake by Kelly Siskind is a fun fast read. Even though I didn't love this book, I did enjoy  segments of it, as well as the characters and supporting characters.

Unfortunately, I found my self wanting to skim throughout parts of the book.  It just didn't keep my attention at all times. I feel like once again, I'm in the minority with this one. I wish I could say that I loved this book, but I can't...but, I did like it. Would I recommend this book? Most definitely!!

I give My Perfect Mistake 3 Crazie Stars!! ~Kim

KIM'S REVIEW~CIPHER by Emma Shade

Cipher, by Emma Shade, is a standalone and is told in the heroine's POV.  It's mysterious, enticing, and will keep you on your toes until the very end. It's a little tamed down from the books I normally read, but so refreshing I must say. It's YA with some paranormal elements.

In this sweet, mysterious love story, we are introduced to Grayson and Jazmin.

Jazmin has to start over her Senior year of high school in a new state and a new town. She has to make new friends and adjust to her new life, and she's not very happy about it. The kids at her new school are not very welcoming to her except for the hottest guy in school, and one of the flawless elite, Grayson Sterling.

It doesn't take long for Jazmin to realize that Crawstone, Indiana, is not the town it appears to be. Something strange is going on and she is determined to find out what that is. She is being haunted by a ghost of a girl that was murdered in her new town.

I'm gonna stop right here so I don't give too much away. I really enjoyed this book. Emma Shade has a creative imagination. I've read her previous books and I loved them. This book is definitely different from her normal writing style, but she did add a little bit of paranormal in this one.  I'm not normally a paranormal fan so that tells you what kind of author Emma Shade is.

I definitely recommend Cipher. If you like YA then this is the book for you. If you like paranormal, then this is a book for you.  It's not considered a paranormal book but it does have a touch of paranormal element to it.

I give Cipher 4 Crazie Stars!! ~Kim

KIM'S REVIEW~HIS LIGHT IN THE DARK by L.A. Fire

When I read the synopsis of His Light in the Dark, I had to read it. Childhood friends to lovers are some of my favorite reads.

Unfortunately, this book wasn't for me. I never really felt connected to the characters. I loved Mace, who was Mia's father, and his character. I even liked Cole and Mia. I just never really got drawn in. I love when a book pulls me in and that's all I can think about for days after I'm finished. This book just didn't meet my expectations.

I liked the book and the direction it was going, it just never really got there for me. I felt it could have been shortened some because it lost me for awhile. I caught myself skimming to get through. The first part of the book and the last part of the book I actually loved. It was the middle where I got distracted and started skimming.

I'm thinking maybe it was just me and my mindset at the time of reading this one. I would recommend the book. The author does a great job with her writing and the storyline was a good one. I just didn't connect with these characters like I wanted to. So that could be on me and not the author.

I give His Light in the Dark 3 Crazie Stars! ~Kim

Elizabeth's Review~ Ex-Con~ Scott Hildreth~

26110891

★4.5 I need more EX-CON STARS!★

"All we needed was a second chance."

description

EX-Con is the fifth book in the Selected Sinners MC Series. Although the characters are intertwined throughout the series, each book can be read and devoured as a stand alone. This was my first Scott Hildreth read and I assure you it will not be my last!

description

In the opening scene of EX-Con, we are introduced to a vibrant young woman named Emily. After a night of partying, she finds herself in a precarious state with a "handsy" frat boy. Lucky for Ms. Em, Jackson (a member of the Hell's Fury MC) quickly comes to her aid.

"My savior was tall, extremely muscular, and what portions of his body weren't covered by the seemingly microscopic leather vest he was wearing were decorated with tattoos."-Em

description

Emily and Jackson have an instant attraction to one another and yet, it is the emotional connection that is made that draws Jackson to Emily like a moth to a flame.

"Okay, Jackson the biker, you've got my attention, now what?"-Em

Although Emily is anxious to jump into bed with the "honorable, tattooed, bad biker", Jackson is not into meaningless sex. If Emily and Jackson were to pursue a relationship it would be only if Emily is able to agree to Jackson's terms for sharing his bed. Additionally, Jackson makes it clear that it must be a mutual decision that they make together! Jackson is hesitant to invest in a relationship because he has already suffered the loss of two lovers.

"What if my future with anything or anyone is sealed from what I've done in the past."-Jackson

As Jackson and Emily's friendship blossoms, the sexual tension continues to increase. As trust is built between the two, a beautiful friendship is formed and the foundation of long lasting love is established. Once Em and Jackson enhance their emotional bond by adding the physical connection, the intensity increases as they both begin to feel deeply for one another. Although Emily is no virgin, Jackson's preferences in the bedroom are new and exciting for her. Em feels like a kid on Christmas morning every time they are together. (As the reader, you will too! Thank you for that Mr. Hildreth!)

description

"I realized I wasn't only being fucked by Jackson Shephard. I was deeply in love with him."-Em

Jackson and Emily share an intense bond that only grows stronger throughout the development of the story. At the exact moment you feel that the read is coasting to a HEA 40% too early, everything shifts. Jackson is torn from Em and it is questionable if they will ever find their way back together again.

"JACKSON XI-XXI-MMVI EMILY"

description

EX-Con is an expertly crafted story with complex characters, an intense plot, action, and explosive sex scenes. Each moment is depicted with precision in a way that the reader feels transported directly into the scene. Told in dual POV, EX-Conis so much more than a biker romance. This is truly the tale of a man overcoming betrayal, abandonment, and loss. This is the tale of a woman who finds trust and unconditional love in the arms of an "unconventional man". What is most remarkable about this read is the many layers that are explored within the characters. Because the story takes place over many years, we experience the longevity of the "sense of loss" and the tender moments of joy! The writing style of Mr. Hildreth is fluid and natural throughout. The dialogue is witty and heartfelt. The tempo is well paced and each element of the plot was well balanced as the action increases.

"Jackson wasn't a man I had simply fallen in love with, he had become a part of my inner being. No differently than my lungs, heart, kidneys, and liver were all needed to keep me alive, Jackson was now a necessary part of my existence. Without him, I was certain to wither and die."-Em

description

"He made me a promise that he'd eventually always come home. And Jackson Shephard never breaks a promise."-Em

description

"Yes, sir?"

Overall, EX-Con is so much more than the typical "biker banging romance novel". It is unique because of the well crafted blend of romance, passion, action, and everything in between. I found this read to be utterly delightful because of the two main characters Emily and Jackson. Both independent and strong characters alone and yet, together they are a powerhouse! Due to the extreme sexual desires of this hero, the tender romance between the two main characters, the well developed plot, and the driving action, I'd say there is something for everyone in this read! I simply cannot express the excitement I am feeling in regards to discovering a new author to explore. The playground is open for business and this girl is ready to play! Thankfully, Moneyshot is already locked and loaded on my kindle!
