KIM'S REVIEW ~ FIVE MILES by Lili St. Germain

My heart is pounding...it's pounding so hard that I feel like it may jump out of my chest. It's ridiculous that this series is all I can think about right now.  Lili St. Germain, what have you done to me?  You've made me love raw and gritty.  Dang it!!! But I wouldn't have it any other way.

Five Miles starts off pretty much where  Six Brothers left off and Dornan is on the war path.  A path I would definitely stay away from...but not Julz.  Nope, she is high on adrenaline right now...Two brothers down and 4 brothers to go...and of course big daddy Dornan is on that list too.

Each novella just keeps getting better and better and right when you think you may be figuring it out, BAM...the author throws you for a loop...literally!!

Dornan is going crazy with the loss of two of his sons.  He thinks he knows who's responsible so he is ready to strike.  Nothing is holding him back.

This is where I'm on the edge of my seat and I can not put this book down.  I've devoured each one of these books. I'm starving and I can't stop my cravings.  DANG IT!

The stress seems to be getting to Julz. Don't get me wrong she is still bad-ass but I think everything that's been going down is starting to settle in with her and the reality of the situation is brutal.

"It's almost like I'm dying...little by little; piece by piece.

Burnt out, shattered, breaking apart under the weight of my lies-and I still have five to go."

Her saving grace is Jase and Elliott, but at the same time, they're causing her more stess.  Without them though, I worry about Julz.  She is riding down a dark and dangerous road with no going back...So, how long can she keep this charade up? Is Jase on to her?  If so, will he be able to forgive her?

We get more of Elliott and Julz as well as Julz and Jase in this book.  And oh my...my heart breaks for Julz, Elliott and my sweet sweet Jase.

I feel liked I'm being chased and I'm about to get caught.  I'm a nervous wreck.  I must stop here because I'm ready to give away too much.  With it being a novella, it's hard not to give too much away.

This book did not disappoint.  Each one keeps getting better and better. And the end of this book, will do a number on you.  Thank goodness Four Score is out...Not sure I could have waited.

I love this series...I love it hard.  I'm nervous about starting Four Score and I know once I'm finished, I'll have to wait until July for Three Years.  Ugh.

I definitely recommend this series.

I give Five Miles 5 Crazie Stars!!! ~Kim

KIM'S REVIEW ~ SIX BROTHERS by Lili St. Germain

"To be wronged is nothing, unless you continue to remember it." ~Confucius

"I would never forget.  And so, for me, being wronged was everything." ~Sammi/Juliette

Oh my!!! I must say that Lili St. Germain has me hooked! Wow!!! This series is really twisted...Some serious messed up shit. But I can't get enough. I'm anxious, my hearts racing and I feel like I'm siting on pins and needles the entire time that I'm reading. I feel like I'm going to be sick at times, so I get up and walk away, but my mind is constantly thinking of this dang book and I have to get right back to reading. So I'm thinking...am I twisted? HECK YES, I AM!

There isn't a whole lot I can say without giving too much away, so this review is going to be hard. But if you loved Seven Sons, OMG...You're really going to love Six Brothers. I was worried about how Sammi was going to pull off  her next revenge plot without causing suspicion on her...But dang it, she did it and she did it good.  Brilliance...pure brilliance!!!

"Some people would call me a whore. A girl who sold her soul to the devil. Who let him inside her, with no remorse. Who danced with the monster who destroyed everything. To those people, I say only this: I didn’t have to sell Dornan Ross my soul. He already owned it. And once I’ve killed him, maybe I can get it back."

~Meet Dornan Ross~

Dornan Ross is a MONSTER...he's an evil evil man who appears to be falling in love with Sammi.  But even love doesn't keep him from harming her. I'm not sure if he would ever harm any of his son's, because his love for them seems genuine and unconditional.  He  takes their death hard like any parent would. But he wouldn't blink an eye to slit the throat of a woman he may love, especially if she betrays him.  And Sammi got another little taste of what that monster will do. He is one sick man!!! I'm a nervous wreck the entire time Sammi is in his presence.

"You'd never betray me, would you, Sammi?"

"Never," I lie.

Then we have Jase...Oh how I love him!

We get a little taste of the love that Jase and Sammi once shared and my heart breaks for him...for her.  It's getting harder and harder the more she is around him to control her feelings for him...he's still the man she once loved...still loves. But she knows in order to pull off her plans of revenge on Dornan and his son's that she can't let herself go there. And, what if she does go there and confesses all to Jase...would he protect her or would he warn his father? I know in my heart that he would protect her.  He loathes his father and brothers...at least I hope he does.

The more we get to know Jase, the more I love him.  He's nothing like his evil father and brothers.  NOTHING!!

“She was my girl,” he says, and I can feel myself breaking apart inside under the weight of his words. “She was my everything.”

This book was just as raw, gritty and gruesome as the first book. The suspense is really getting to me.  I can't wait to see how this all plays out.  Being in Sammi's head is WHACKED!!! It's like watching a movie...watching it all play out. Her plotting is brilliant...pure genius.

Two down. Five to go.

and the story continues...

I give Six Brothers 5 Crazie Stars!!! ~Kim

KIM'S REVIEW ~ SEVEN SONS by Lili St. Geramin

Confucius said, “Before embarking upon a journey of revenge, dig two graves.”

I love to read  reviews from other people. So, when I saw that a certain reviewer that has similar taste as me had highly recommended this series, I was right on it...Thank you Kawehi Reviews!!

As soon as I read the synopsis of Seven Sons, I knew I had to read it.  I've been becoming a fan of MC books lately and this one was like WOAH!!!

With her innocence stolen at the age of fifteen, skin branded, thought for dead and her father murdered, Juliette Portland sets out to seek revenge on the parties responsible.

"Today my name is Juliette Portland, but tomorrow I will wake up as someone else entirely. Someone who will bring Dornan Ross and the Gypsy Brothers Motorcycle Club to their knees."

At the age of 21, Juliette, now known as Sammi, is out for blood and out for revenge against the Gypsy Brothers Motorcycle Club who are responsible for her father's death and her loss of innocence.

Who the heck can blame her!!!

"I shed a tear because she is about to die, six years after she cheated death."

She goes under the knife to change her appearance and to remove the scars that once branded her.

Sammi now finds herself in a situation that in order to seek redemption and raise havoc upon Dornan Ross and his seven sons, she has to live in hell all over again.

"What was born as fear and grief has long since blossomed into hatred and rage."

Sammi wasn't prepared for the liking that Dornan Ross took with her.  She went to him asking for a job and instead of a job, he want's her for himself.  He puts her up in the clubhouse which is exactly want she wanted, but at what price?  Is she willing to sleep with the enemy to seek out the ultimate revenge? Is she willing to live in hell to seek redemption?

What Sammi wasn't expecting was to come face to face with Jace, Dornan's youngest son...her friend and first love.  Seeing him and being back in that strip club brings back memories of that horrific night where she was gang raped by his father and six brothers. Jace refused to participate that night before she blacked out so I'm assuming he did not rape her. Please god, I hope not!!!

"You remind me of a girl I used to know,” he says quietly, looking away."

Her plan is set in motion, she is now IN and has Dornan's complete attention. Carrying out her plan is not going to be easy and she knows it.  Not only does she have to sleep with Dornan so she doesn't blow her cover, she comes face to face with her mother who sold her out years ago for drugs.  No one recognizes her and they wouldn't because she is presumed dead and has had a complete total makeover with a body they can't resist.

Her plan is to take them out one by one.  Nothing is holding her back.  She is ready to strike and she is ready to strike now!!!

ONE DOWN. SIX TO GO.

This novella is by no means a romantic one...at least not at this point, being the  first book in the series.  It's down right raw and dirty.  There is a hint of a potential romance between Sammi and Jace or possibly between Sammi and Elliott, who happens to be the cop who saved her life.  And, I have to say I love them both!!!

"After the third time, he left. Because I was darkness, and he was sinking inside that darkness, and every time he tried to pull me out, I’d hold him under with me."

The first three years after her world was ripped apart, Elliott and Sammi became close...very close.  He fell in love with her but her demons from the past put a strain on their relationship and he knew there was nothing he could do to help her so he left.

Three years later she is back and there is definitely chemistry there.  I also feel the chemistry between her and Jase.  I'm hoping for a Sammi/Jase HEA but I'm also loving me some Elliott.  We'll just have to wait and see where Lili St. Geramin takes us.  A journey I'm so ready to take.

Seven Sons is a RAW...DIRTY...SUSPENSEFUL read that will keep you on the edge of your seat craving more. If you are looking for romance, this is not the book for you...if you are looking for downright raw an gritty...then this is the book for you.  I'm hoping the romance will come with the future novella's.

I have to say that I'm a sucker for romance.  Bring me raw and grittiness with some hot romance and I'm totally on board. I read this novella so fast...Now I'm ready for more.

So, bring on Six Brothers and thank goodness it's already out.  I'm stoked to get started with the 2nd book in this series!!!  Yikes ;)

I give Seven Sons 4.5 Crazie Stars!!! ~Kim

KIM'S REVIEW ~ MONSTER IN HIS EYES by J.M. Darhower

I wasn't sure what to expect when I came across this book.  But boy am I glad I did. Monster in his Eyes is exactly what I thought it would be and more.

I'll take a dark suspenseful read any day!!!

“I’m warning you. I’m not a good man, Karissa, and I never will be. So don’t think you can fix me, or that I’ll ever change, because I won’t.”

Karissa is your typical college student,  attending college on a full scholarship in which she must maintain a certain grade point average to keep it. This is her means of paying for college and keeping her scholarship is all she is worried about...

Until she meets the mysterious and  gorgeous Ignazio Vitale (Naz).

Naz is handsome...mysterious...dangerous...possessive...and so so swoon worthy!!! Yes, swoon worthy!!!  He had me from the start!  There is something about a sexy bad boy that gets me every time...And, he is thirty six and Karissa is eighteen.!! Yikes.  Big age difference I know, but I didn't mind. I actually loved the fact that he was older.

"His gaze burns through me, seeping down into my soul, seizing me like a prisoner."

"I'm a willing captive."

"I want to be his. I want to be his everything. I want him to take me, and make me, and use me, and abuse me, because he thinks he has control and I know now that's what he craves."

"I want to play his game with him."

The suspense of this book had me on the edge of my seat.  The author was brilliant...I devoured this book!  I couldn't wait to get back to it.  Unfortunately, my day job has nothing to do with reading...that would be an ideal job.  So, in between patients and during my lunch hour, I would read as much as I could.  This book consumed me until the end...and now it's left me wanting more.

"For as much as I hate him, I also love him.

I love him.

I love him.

And I hate that, too.

He's a monster wrapped up in a pretty package."

Yes, there is a cliffhanger...But I think it's one you can live with.  CAN.NOT.WAIT for more Naz and Karissa!!!

Get this book now if you haven't read it.  But, be prepared because I guarantee that it will consume you and you'll love every minute of it!!

I give MONSTER IN HIS EYES 5 Crazie Stars!!! ~Kim

KIM'S REVIEW ~ LOVING MR. DANIELS by Brittainy C. Cherry

Okay, I must say that I'm a huge huge fan of student/teacher romance books. Brittiany C. Cherry DID NOT DISAPPOINT!!  Oh, how I loved this book!!!

When I read the synopsis, I knew I had to read it...like pronto!!! After I read the prologue, I was hooked...like don't even try to drag me away from this book hooked...NOT GONNA HAPPEN.

To Whom it May Concern,

It was easy to call us forbidden and harder to call us soulmates. Yet I believed we were both. Forbidden soulmates.

When I arrived to Edgewood, Wisconsin I didn’t plan to find him. I didn't plan to stumble into Joe's bar and have Daniel's music stir up my emotions. I had no clue that his voice would make my hurts forget their own sorrow. I had no idea that my happiness would remember its own bliss.

When I started senior year at my new school, I wasn’t prepared to call him Mr. Daniels, but sometimes life happens at the wrong time for all the right reasons.

Our love story wasn’t only about the physical connection.

It was about family. It was about loss. It was about being alive. It was silly. It was painful. It was mourning. It was laughter.

It was ours.

And for those reasons alone, I would never apologize for loving Mr. Daniels.

-Ashlyn Jennings

SOLD!!!

LOVING MR. DANIELS is a wonderful powerful story of forbidden love.  You will be captivated during your entire journey of this book.  You will laugh and you will cry and not only will you fall in love with Daniel and Ashlyn...

You will meet other fabulous characters such as Ashlyn's twin sister,Gabby, who had passed away during the beginning of the book...but was present throughout the entire journey. We also meet FAUX step brother and sister, Hailey and Ryan that you will adore as well. OMG RYAN...he was one of my favs. LOVED HIM!!!

"To all of the Tonys of the world.

I SEE you.
I HEAR YOU.
I LOVE you.

And you are not alone."
~Ryan

~Meet Mr. Daniels~

“His eyes were so blue and filled with interest. For a second, I thought they were a passageway to a different world.

Beautiful.
Breathtaking.
Brilliant.
Blue eyes.

I sighed.

Maybe they were a passageway to a better world.”

Daniel and Ashlyn's journey begins when Ashlyn is forced to move and live with her estranged father who had been non-existent in her and Gabby's lives. Not only is she having to move across country, she has to switch schools her senior year of high school and move in with her father's girlfriend and children.

On the train ride to Wisconsin, Ashlyn comes face to face with a man that  captivated her...Twenty-two year old musician, Daniel Daniels!!  It's magic...

Beautiful.
Breathtaking.
Brilliant.
Blue eyes.

Daniel invites Ashlyn to come see his band, Romeo's Quest, perform at a bar that they frequently play...And this invite, embarks and unforgettable journey.

"But for the life of me, I couldn’t believe that that girl deserved to be so sad. I secretly hoped that someday someone could make her smile without the frown lines."

"I hoped someday she would be all right."

Things are looking up for Ashlyn for once in a long time and she's feeling a connection to someone...someone who lit a fire in her...someone she could connect with...someone she couldn't stop thinking about and couldn't wait to see again.

UNTIL...

“He wasn’t the handsome man who’d awakened my spirits a few nights ago with his romantic vocals. He wasn’t the man who’d made me laugh and allowed me to cry into him. He wasn’t the man who’d reminded me that I was still alive when his lips had triumphantly found mine.
No, he wasn’t Daniel anymore.
He was Mr. Daniels.
And I was his naïve student who he’d frostily dismissed.”

The story continues...

What a journey this book will take you on.  You will fall in love with all the characters, well most of them. You will experience different emotions throughout.  You will be happy and you will be sad.

This book is about forgiveness, healing, friendship and most importantly, it's a forbidden love story...an EPIC love story!!! You will be engrossed with this book. It will stay with you from now on. When I think of this book, I know I will have a smile on my face. It touched me. It touched me HARD. I will forever think of Ryan. Him and his fake cigarette box. He touched me deep down into my soul...he's left his mark on me permanently...

"May the winds be our
 friends, floating us home.
May tomorrows be the
beauty where each soul
 goes.
May the journey be worth
the ultimate death.
May the sweet memories of
us never be put to rest.
Fine lines between here and
there.
Bursting flames ignite the
air.
Breathe in, breathe out.
Angels, listen closely now."

I feel everyone should read this book
and I hope you get out of it what I did.
I'm thrilled I read it. Pure
Perfection!!

LOVED LOVED LOVED!!

I definitely recommend this book.

I give LOVING MR. DANIELS 5 Crazie Stars!! ~Kim

KIM'S REVIEW ~ DRAGON'S LAIR by Chantal Fernando

"I have nowhere, an no one left to turn to. I lost everything in one night. Over one mistake."

Dragon's Lair is your typical MC read.

I was so excited to read this book but was left disappointed.  I wanted ANGST...none!!! I wanted RAW & GRITTY...none!!!  Don't get me wrong, there was some excitement at times, but not enough to get my adrenaline pumping...and dang it I want my adrenaline pumping when I read.  I crave it!!

I felt a "somewhat" connection with Dex and Faye.  Faye at times had me laughing out loud and Dex was not your typical biker Vice Pres.  He didn't behave in "whoreish" ways like most biker books portray.  He was a great guy who was actually faithful. & I did love that ;). He wasn't as nice though when it came to biker business dealings.  He did what he had to do, whether it be murder or whatever else they do during their business dealings.

Dragon's Lair was a fun quick read. I read it in one day. Because this book wasn't really for me, doesn't mean it's not a good book. It's getting great reviews so give it a try if you like MC books. But, keep in mind, it's a sweet read with some twists, not like the typical MC books that I normally read.

If your looking for lots of angst and down right grittiness, then this may not be the book for you. If you are looking for a sweet read, then this may be the book for you. I just feel it lacked details...but that's just me.

I give Dragon's Lair 3 Crazie Stars ~Kim
