KIM'S REVIEW ~ BENEATH THESE CHAINS by Meghan March

Beneath These Chains was innovative, engaging and suspenseful, and is the third book in the Beneath Series by Meghan March, and can be read as a stand-alone. Told from dual POV's.

Lord, who happens to be one sexy alpha male, is the hero in this book. He is the owner of an upscale pawn shop, Chains, which resides on the rough side of town in New Orleans.

We were first introduced to Lord in Beneath This Ink. He is Con's older tatted up brother. Lord was raised on the streets and has worked hard for where he's at today, so when he discovers that an employee is stealing from him, he doesn't waste anytime firing her.  Then enters a hot, fiery, red head demanding a job.

"She’s the most tempting thing I’ve ever seen, and I’ll be damned if I can make her leave."

Elle, who we also met in Beneath This Ink, is Vanessa's rich best friend. She is brazen, bold, feisty, and independent. I loved her as a heroine. She has an agenda and nothing or no one is going to stop her from getting what she wants. Not even the tatted up hot, sexy male, Lord.

"Lord was strong, but not overpowering. He'd lead, but not force. He was the kind of man I hadn't even known existed, and the one I couldn't imagine not having."

"Surprised a guy like you wants to be taken instead of doing the taking."

"Sweet thing, you took me from day one."

"There, in his arms, the rest of my shattered pieces melded together into something stronger than before they'd been broken."

I truly enjoyed this book. It was suspenseful, compelling, and enticing, with a zest of comicality. Even though I felt like the book was missing something, I was still invested in Lord and Elle's story.  Their chemistry, right along with the author's writing style, kept me interested. I would definitely recommend this book.

Beneath These Scars will be the 4th book in the Beneath Series and will be Lucas Titan's story.  I'm hoping the author will do a 5th book. I would love to know more about Hennessy.

I give Beneath These Chains 4 Crazie Stars!!! ~Kim

KIM'S REVIEW ~ KING by T.M. Frazier

King, by T. M. Frazier, is the first book of a two-part series.  It's unique, dark, raw and sensual and is told in both King and Doe's POV.

This is my first book by T. M. Frazier and it won't be my last. I was absolutely impressed with her writing style and her imagination. She keeps you engrossed by offering you characters that are complicated as well as bewitching. I positively can't wait for Tyrant, book #2.

"They call me King."

Brantley King is an infamous career criminal and tattoo artist, recently released from a maximum security prison where he served a three year sentence. Growing up with an alcoholic mother and living life on the edge, consequently forced King into the dark world that he now resides.

King, and his partner in crime, Preppy, have been best friends since elementary school.  King took up for Preppy one afternoon while being bullied and have been inseparable ever since.  They started their own business from rock bottom and are now well respected in their criminal world.

Preppy(oh how I love him) throws King a welcoming home party, but King trying to adjust to life outside of prison, is NOT in the partying mood.  He engrosses himself by doing what he loves...inking tattoos. King is feeling out of  sorts until he comes face to face with a pair of blue eyes.

Homeless. Hungry. Desperate.

Doe is homeless with no recollection of her past or where she comes from. Her past is a mystery. She's been living on the streets for the past few months desperate for food and shelter. She befriends a prostitute/drug addict who tries to coerce her into believing that the only way to survive on the streets is to sell her body.

"I am desperate and desperate people don't have the luxury of options."

Now at her lowest, Doe finds herself at King's party. This is where we are introduced to Bear(love him), King and Preppy's good friend, who also happens to be the V.P. of the Beach Bastards MC.  King and Preppy have been friends with Bear since he was fifteen years old and has tried for years to get King and Preppy to join the MC with no luck.  Bear is the first to meet Doe, and as a welcome home present he sends her up to King's room. Little did they know that this introduction was about to change King's and Doe's lives forever.

"I found myself again in the haunted eyes of a girl who was just as lost as I was. Or maybe, we didn't find each other at all. Maybe, we just decided to be lost together."

King takes Doe under his protection and the way he is feeling toward her is confusing and complex. He's possessive and likes control, and his battle between wanting to possess her or to let her go is taking a toll on him. She is the light in his darkness and his walls are starting to crumble.

"If you took the scary out of the equation, King was drop dead gorgeous. His eyes were so dark green they almost looked black. His lips were full and slightly pink. He was the most terrifyingly beautiful thing I'd ever laid eyes on."

I love the changes in King and Doe that we witness throughout the book.  Their chemistry is undeniable. Even though the attraction was immediate on both sides, I love how the author progressed at a steady pace and that there wasn't an instant love. Instant attraction...YES!!

"Stop being alive, and start living.”

"Why did you come back to me?"

"Because You're Mine."

Between the huge plot twists and shocking reveals, my emotions were all over the place. I did not put this book down until I was finished.  I loved the complexity of the characters as well as the simplicity. I fell in love with the secondary characters, Preppy and Bear. I would love to know more about Bear. Hopefully, we will get to know more about him in Tyrant...or maybe he'll get a book of his own. I sure hope so.

If you are a fan of dark romance and sexy alpha males, then I recommend you read King now. T.M. Frazier has a talent that is indisputable and I look forward to reading many more from her. I don't want to give too much away so I'm going to stop here. This is one of those books that you need to experience all on your own.

I give King 4.5 Crazie Stars!!! ~Kim

The minute a book starts with a warning I immediately know I will like. And this was no exception.

This story was a fantastic, emotional, & suspenseful roller coaster ride. When you think you figured something out the author goes and twist things around and leaves you with your mind browned away.

The opening of this book had me in tears. I mean seriously I was a complete mess, my chest hurt so much I couldn't stop the tears from falling off my face. Once I was able to put myself together and see clearly through my watery eyes I was able to focus reading and I just couldn't stop. The story went by so fast it kept me on the edge and I did not want to stop.

Georgie was 16 years old when she met Deck (his brother's best friend). She fell in love with him ever since but their love was just impossible. Conner, her brother disappeared and all this time she thought he was dead. She suffered for 10 years over the death of her brother and not only because of that but something dark happened to her that left her broken and damaged. She completely covered her damaged heart and mind with lies pretending she was someone she was not so that Deck & her loved ones would never find out her dark secrets.

She used pain to walk away strong to cope with shit that fucked with her head. She used the physical pain in order to deal with her emotions. Flirting and pretending was the only way to hide her darkest secrets.

Deck felt protected over her ever since he met her. However, he left for two years after her brothers death to try to stay away from her. He needed the distance to keep the promise he made to her brother that he will never be intimate with her. He promised to protect her but when he returned he realized she changed. He never on his wildest dreams could have ever imagined what made her changed so much. And me either when the author revealed it I was in stocked. I totally was not expecting that at all.

Deck realized she needed help and he was bound to get thru her lies and find the real Georgie no matter what the consequences.

"…fuck Connor. Fuck everything. She was mine now, and I was never letting her go." ~Deck

There was so many lies, so many emotions, so much suspense, I was basically devouring every minute of it.

But more than that we had lots of sexual tension between Georgie and Deck. At first it was tension but right about 47% it was madness. Holy freaking HOT and erotic scenes. I needed a fan the rest the book, it was an amazing chemistry between these two it was ridiculously HOT. It was more than just sex it was need, passion, and pure LOVE.

The suspense and action after they finally gave into each other and what was always meant to be had me chewing my nails and freaking out. My heart beat wouldn't slow down, I felt like my stomach was in my throat and I was having trouble breathing.

Deck and Georgie finally decided that no matter how hard the truth hurt they will never lie to each other. Their love was beautiful and so real. Deck was able to help Georgie's brokenness with his love and his HARD and delicious fucking. Yeah it was not so sweet sometimes it was HARD and FAST and absolutely amazing. He was a complete Dom and she loved it. Georgie realized it was exactly what she needed to break thru her damaged mind. He made her whole again.

"My insides went haywire as he strode toward me. Could a body be set into flames from a mere look? Yes. Hell yes, we were talking about Deck here." ~Georgie

"Now, I knew, and I realized the tightness in my chest was gone. She was mine. Completely. Looking at her now, it wasn’t painful like it had been for years. Now, it was …freedom. For today—tomorrow. For-fuckin-ever." ~Deck

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

"Georgie was the good in me. Without her, I was sure I’d sink into the darkness of my mind and never emerge. She gave me the light to keep coming back. To crawl away from the evil I was surrounded by, the nightmares, the coldness, and she made me human again." ~Deck

"We’d always been meant for one another. Our paths had been running parallel for so long, trying to cross, yet the ghost of Connor and Robbie and even Kai kept us apart." ~Georgie

We get to see a bit of Kai and I was a mess again. Like struggling so hard to write this review, so emotional. My heart hurts for him, for Connor, for Tanner, for London and for all the innocents that were before them.

I do love the fact that we got to see all the characters from Tear Asunder at the end it was a fabulous ending to this book until the very last sentence...seriously?! ...gawd...OMG...I need book 2 NOW!!

KIM'S REVIEW ~ SHATTERED BY YOU by Nashoda Rose

Shattered by You is the third book in the Tear Asunder Series and is Crisis and Haven's story. I am utterly blown away by this author. She has a way of making each book unique and with such depth that keeps you glued to your kindle.

Crisis and Haven's story is very emotional. The turmoil that Haven had endured in her short life and up until she was saved by Deck and his men, was absolutely horrific.  Their story is so compelling. It's a story of courage, love, and strength and I loved every minute of it.

Haven is Ream's twin sister, who unfortunately was dealt a tough hand in life. The gruesome past that she endured in the hands of monsters is quite disturbing.  The strength and courage that she portrays every single day is remarkable...even with the triggers that take her back in time...back to that god forsaking place where she couldn't fight the demons.

"Because even though I escaped years of abuse, it didn't mean I was free."

Crisis is the sexy bass guitarist in Tear Asunder. He is witty, flirty, cocky, and loves lots of attention... especially from the ladies.  But since meeting Haven, Crisis has seemed to have given up his man-whoring ways.

Haven has an episode where flashbacks from her past become so overwhelming that she finally breaks. Crisis is there to catch her and help pick up the shattered pieces. Little by little she starts to allow him in without even realizing. He is so carefree and genuinely a loving caring soul, that I honestly fell in love with him as Haven did.  I mean how could you not?

"Crisis was like breathing in fresh air. The beauty of him was that there were no lies. No mask. He said what everyone else was too polite or afraid to say."

The romance aspect of this book is prevalent throughout, but with slow escalation. It's not rushed and the timing is right on. We get to follow along on the journey with Crisis and Haven as they  fall in love. Crisis is always there to pick up the pieces...one by one. One thing for sure is that he was there for every step of the way.

I loved everything about this book and this series. I wasn't sure what to expect with Crisis and Haven's story, but it was everything I could have hoped for. I have enjoyed all three books so far from this series and I.CAN.NOT.WAIT. for Kite's story.  We really get a taste of Kite in Shattered by You, and let me just say, the small pieces of Kite's life that we get a glimpse of have me remarkably excited for book 4.

Shattered by You is a story about "surviving the pieces. It's about the strength found within the damaged. It's about love. Love found despite the jagged, tainted edges of who Haven had become."

I definitely recommend this book...this entire series.  Exceptionally written.  I love this author and look forward to reading more from her.

I give SHATTERED BY YOU 5 CRAZIE STARS!!! ~Kim
