Unraveled is the second book in The Gatekeeper Series. Dina Given offers up another supernatural mix of mysterious creatures, heart stopping action, and a constant undercurrent of romance to keep your blood pumping the entire read.

As Unraveled begins, Emma (Ashnan) is still recovering from the mighty battle that took place in the conclusion of Unhidden. She has the Sharur (the magical ax) and Eddie by her side. Alex is recovering from his injuries from the battle and Jason has gone into hiding with Lilly. Zane is still out there and still wants her but yet is driven to kill her by the evil magic seeping through his soul. Emma is experiencing self doubt over her past choices and she is striving to overcome her fears for the future. 

No one can be trusted. The Sharur calls to Emma and longs to find that spiritual connection with her. She is resisting. Alone in New York and unsure of her allies, Emma longs for her love for Zane to heal him. She longs for her friendship with Alex to be healed, she wants protection for her friend Jason, and for the evil forces to be sent back to their world forever. Through it all, Emma maintains a witty spirit and a she carries a spark that leaves a smile on your face the entire read.

"I should have been dragging the woman out of the restaurant by that point. She screamed bloody murder at the scene. I couldn't blame her, but God help me, I wanted to slap her and tell her to shut the hell up. Some savior of the human race I was."-Emma

Told in multiple POV Unraveled offers up another fresh blend of "comic con" type creatures, fierce action, some sexy heroes, and one bad ass heroine! The characters are well developed and their connections are clearly established throughout the series. There are several secondary characters in this series. I feel that you must be 100 percent invested in order to follow all of the twists and turns in this plot. As the action in the story intensifies, the love story continues to deepen. Emma is obviously meant to be with her first love Zane and yet Alex is able to offer her the comfort and care in her darkest hours. (Not to mention the loyalty and deep friendship she feels for Jason.) My heart broke for these characters as they grappled with finding solace in their situation.

Overall, I would not hesitate to recommend this series to all Paranormal/Sci-Fi fans. This series has vampires, demons, dragons, spirits, elves, and much more. However sexy Emma and Zane are together (or could be together), the romance element is definitely secondary in this series. Although it enhanced the tension in the read, I was sadly disappointed that there wasn't more physical connection between Emma and Zane. I guess we will have to find out what happens in the next installment of the series! The tempo of the writing is steady as the sounds and sites of New York City come to life and battle the mystical creatures of other worlds. You are truly transported to the battle field and immersed into this fantastical mystical world. No doubt the ending left me on pins and needles. My kindle is ready and waiting for more!

~4 FANTASTIC LOVIN' the FIGHTIN' IRISH STARS!~

Breaking a Legend is the first of the Kavanagh Legends Series. The Kavanagh Clan is an Irish Family living in Woodlawn, New York where they own the Legends Training Gym. Each brother is uniquely passionate about their family and the women in their lives!

"We're a very accepting family. Unless you hurt one of us-then you should probably run and hide."

Rory Kavanagh is the oldest of the Irish clan. He is known for his success as a professional MMA Fighter. Rory was recently injured in a fight and has lost everything because of the injury to his leg. He is no longer able to do the only thing that he loves. Because of stress and depression, he has turned to drinking, women, and prescription drugs to fill the void that the loss of fighting has left.

Clare Ivers is new to the Woodlawn Community. She has made her way by tending bar at the local pub. When she meets the infamous Rory Kavanagh, there is an instant connection between the two. She is so taken with him, it takes a huge amount of willpower to remind herself to stay away. She did not move to New York for romance. However, when Clare decides to take a self defense class at the Legends Gym, she and Rory begin to see more of each other. It becomes evident that these two are meant to be.

"Clare, I'm swinging in the dark here. I've no clue what I'm doing. All I know is that this is different. I don't want to just have one night with you. I think I might want every night with you."-Rory

The relationship starts as friends. Rory walks Clare home from work every night and their friendship quickly develops into something more. However, the road to a happy ending isn't smooth for Clare and Rory. They both are harboring secrets that will ultimately hurt each other. Clare has been running from an abusive ex and Rory has been trying to overcome is dependency on alcohol and prescription drugs. Will Clare be able to escape her past? Can Rory find the inspiration in Clare to give up his dependency on the things wrecking his life?

"He wanted to change. He wanted to be the person Clare knew he could be. He wanted to be the legend his father was."-Rory

What is most refreshing about this read is the family dynamics. The characters are well developed and care deeply for each other. The writing style is natural and fluid. The love connection happens pretty quickly between Rory and Clare and yet the journey they take together is slow and steady. Although I feel this plot "idea" has been explored in other reads, this author offered a fresh perspective to the conflict. The story is told in dual POV. Additionally, I cannot fail to mention the explosive chemistry between Rory and Clare. The steam factor in this read is certainly off the charts! The fighting action was realistic and the tenderness between Rory and Claire had me swooning the entire read. 

"I will never let anything happen to you. No one will ever touch you. As long as I'm breathing, you are safe. You're with me now."

I highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a good Fighter Romance. This was my first Sarah Robinson book and I assure you it will not be my last. I can't wait to meet the next Kavanagh brother! Bravo Ms. Robinson!

Fallen Crest Family continues with the drama that started on book four at Cain University. Sebastian Park is not going to let what Mason did to his frat house go away so easily. He knows the only way to hurt Mason and get his payback is thru Sam. He knows well that Mason would do anything for Sam and he wants to destroy him by getting to him where it hurts the most. Sam and Logan are now in college with Mason and Nate. Oh how excited I was having the fearsome foursome back together. 

Mason is trying to let Sam adjust to her new school year as much as possible so he hide stuff about Park and his plans from her and even from Logan. Sam wants a normal school year so she agrees with Mason to try to make new friends. Regardless she is also going to protect Mason from Sebastian because Mason’s football carrier is most important if he gets in trouble his football carrier is out the window. Therefore she also hides things from him. Lies and secrets are building up once again and when that happens well shit always happens.

Logan oh what can I say about him?! Well I love him to pieces. He was his awesome charm as usual funny and super badass. The love between these two brothers is ridiculous I love them so much. Logan loves his brother so much he also hide things from Mason and tried to protect both him and Sam from Park. Poor Nate does get hurt again and it made me so sad for him and then Logan gets hurt and omg I was all full of anger and so pissed at Park I thought I hated him before but I was wrong I hate him more now.

In the midst of all the drama Mason and Sam were able to show how much they love each other there were some sexy scenes I couldn’t get enough of them. They are just made perfectly for each other strong and always looking for each other. I feel like this book shows how strong and true their love is, they both have defiantly found their sole mate on each other. Loved these two so much and Logan always teasing them was even better he was just the funny lay back awesome brother.

"Mason," I murmured. I wanted his mouth on me, anywhere on me. I wanted him to go faster. I wanted to feel the ride. The sensations were building. I was going to come.

"Sam," he whispered, bending over so that his lips grazed my ear. He kept moving. I felt his body tensing and knew he was right with me. He cursed, gasping. "I love you."

There were so much drama, fights, parties, new friendships, secrets. This book was just freaking amazing right from the start. I completely did not see what Tijan had in store after seventy percentages into this book and all the way up to the end. It was a completely shocking, amazing and brilliant ending. What Mason does made me want to love him and claim him more if that’s even possible. I admired Sam and Logan so much. Everything about this book was just brilliant I just can’t get enough. I seriously don’t want this series to ever end. I would read this series till the end of time and would recommend it to all my YA reader that love some Hot brothers, a badass heroine, lots of action and drama. This series is defiantly a must read my all time favorite YA series ever.

Elizabeth's Review~ Complicate Me~ M. Robinson~ Contemporary Romance

~4 Love Can Be Complicated Stars~

Complicate Me is exactly what the title says~complicated! It is a story documenting the life and times of a group of friends stumbling through the awkward "coming of age" stage of life. It is the story of two of those friends who fell in love and didn't know what to do about it. When the pressure of doing what you are told is right or making the choice to be with the one you love is asked, what would you do?

"Our relationship was filled with what ifs, and maybe some days...it was complicated. It was messy. It was us. I couldn't take her in small doses and I couldn't take her in large ones."-Lucas

Alex and Lucas grew up together in small town with a tight group of friends. Alex was the only girl in the group and "the baby" of the bunch. They spent summers swimming, surfing, riding bikes, playing tag, and just growing up. Not only is the crew close but their parents are close as well. As the group begins to age, Lucas realizes that he feels a little more than brotherly love for Alex. Although he is supposed to only love her as a sister, he realizes that in fact, he loves her for so much more. Alex and Lucas are so young. The boys in the group are older and as they begin to mature the pressures of growing up begins to weigh the group down. Although Lucas knows he has feelings for Alex, he recognizes that she is too young for him to act on it. Additionally, he feels pressure from his friends to love her like a sister and protect her. As all boys do (at that age), he meets other girls and experiences the triumphs and fails of all of the "firsts". He maintains his friendship with Alex but begins to explore. While everyone is growing up, Alex is left as a spectator on the sidelines.

"You're a good girl, Alexandra. That's what makes you my Half-Pint. You're the calm to my storm; it's always been that way. You're my refuge."-Lucas

Alex and Lucas maintain a close friendship. There is no doubt that they both have feelings for each other and yet the constant pressure from their friends (and parents) keep them from being together. The story really begins to take off when Alex grows up. All of a sudden Lucas feels a pressure in his heart that he hasn't felt before. Can he honestly sit by and watch "his brown eyed girl" be with someone else?

"She was mine. I didn't want to share her. Not with Cole. Not with anyone. How do you explain something you don't even understand?"-Lucas

Lucas and Alex experience heartbreak every step of the journey. The way that they feel for each other can't compete with the realities of life and in their life time is a bitch! Sometimes time is not on your side. Sometimes by doing what we think is right, we make mistakes and we loose the people that we love. When the damage is done, can we really go back and make everything ok?

"It overwhelmed me and consumed me. It hurt me and slayed me. Like a giant blade was driven directly in my heart."-Alex

What happens when too much time is passed and too many mistakes have been made? Could it be too late to be with the one we love?

"I loved you then, I love you now, I'll love you always."-Lucas

Overall, I truly enjoyed Complicate Me. Days later I am still pondering the journey these two characters experienced. Every time Lucas walked away to be with another girl, I cried with Alex. Every time I thought Lucas was going to declare his love for her but didn't, I wanted to throw my kindle against the wall. This writing is raw and offers an accurate depiction of life. Told in dual POV we experience "both sides of the story!" The friendships are thoroughly felt through the complex character development and intense situations. The sexual tension in this read is intense and the tender moments between Alex and Lucas left me breathless. I would definitely recommend this read to anyone that is drawn to emotional reads with a heavy dosage of angst. I am not going to lie...my stomach and heart hurt the entire time I was reading this book. Once I started it, I couldn't stop until I reached the end. The anxiety I felt for both characters was magnified with every new challenge they were forced to face. However difficult the journey, the final result was well worth it! My only complaint is that we didn't get more time with Alex and Lucas at the end. I can only hope this means we will see more of them in the rest of the series! This is my first M. Robinson read but it will not be my last. (Only now I know I need to get my tissues and favorite bottle of wine ready!) My kindle will be ready and waiting for more.
