In Walk through Fire, Kristen Ashley wows us once again with a passionate heroine and a bad ass alpha who knows what he wants and isn't afraid to shoot down the entire world to get it. It is a blissful "second chance delight" which will leave you wanting more.

Millie is a successful business owner who lives in a beautiful renovated house. She has no children, no boyfriend, and not even a cat to call her own. While out one night at the local Chipotle, she sees the love of her life. After a quick eavesdropping session, she realizes that he is getting divorced, has two children, and seems to be happy. Millie has spent the last twenty years in despair over the loss of his love in her life. In the haze of “coulda, shoulda, woulda”, Millie decides to approach her lost love and tell him why she left him all of those years ago.

"It was my job to make sure you had it all. It was my job to make sure you had everything. But you wouldn't let me go. You'd never let me go."

Logan is a rough riding biker making his way in the world as a CHAOS brother. He is tough, he is mean, and doesn’t put up with anyone trying to get in his way. When Millie breaks back into his life, he is furious. The audacity of her barreling back through his “easy ride” causes an avalanche of heartbreak and anger to burst forth.

Logan might be mad at Millie but the thought of how he can seek revenge overcomes him. After a few angry tumbles between the sheets, Logan recognizes that Millie is not the same Millie that she was when they were together. Logan and Millie have twenty years worth of heart break and miscommunication to work through. 

Told in dual POV (with a shifting setting from past to present), KA offers another "second chance romance” served with a heavy dosage of steam and a side of light action. Both Millie and Logan were extremely likable characters and although the heart of their plight might be a bit "heavy handed", it is delivered in a manner in which I felt it to be sincere and completely realistic. There was no doubt in my mind that both characters were driven to the choices that they made and I enjoyed every moment of their reconciliation period.

"We stroked and we petted and licked, sucked, dragged, nipped until the urgency he built took over because Logan took over and all I could take in was his scent, all I could do was clutch him to me, my face in his neck, my his riding his fingers thrusting into me."

The passion between Logan and Millie is not only dynamic but also tender. The build up for the "big reveal” was well paced. Although I questioned her choices, I admired her ability to put Logan before her own selfish needs. I found Millie to be a delightful heroine who exemplifies a strong woman just putting "one foot in front of the other”.

An additional delight in this read is the continuity in Ms. Ashley's writing. She always offers glimpses of beloved CHAOS characters. Kristen Ashley knows how to weave and “reweave" the scenic locations and characters into a beautiful potluck shmorgishborg. I always feel like I am sitting right at the counter waiting for TEX to serve me a cappuccino or I am a voyeur in the bedroom with TACK and TYRA as they have yet another delicious duel of words (and tongues). As per KA standard, the written text is written in her own style and the characters' dialogue reflects the way they would sound when speaking. 

"Walked into a party, fell in love with you. Walked through fire when I lost you. Got you back. Nothin', will make me lose you. Hear?"-Logan

Overall, Kristen Ashley fans will adore this read. Although she follows a similar formula in each of her books, my thought on that is, “If it aint broke, don’t fix it!” It always amazes me how I feel transported so easily in one of her reads. Every single KA release day feels like Christmas for me. I look forward to the next CHAOS installment as the action in the story is truly coming full circle! Bravo, Ms. Ashley for another amazing ride! My kindle and I will be ready and waiting for the next CHAOS BIKER and his CHICK!

J.J. McAvoy has done it again! Childstar 1 is an addictive read that will leave you wanting more. It is a story of two children that were shaped into blockbuster actors. They fell in love and then fell apart. When the two are brought back together again, can their hearts survive another break?

Noah Sloan and Amelia London met as child actors on the set of a popular sitcom show. They transformed from friends to young lovers overnight. If only love was enough! Noah broke Amelia's heart when he cheated on her and left her alone with her overbearing "stage mom". Noah has become Hollywood's Bad Boy while Amelia has become the "washed up" America's Sweetheart! Now the opportunity of a lifetime is right in front of them. Both are cast in an upcoming erotic suspense blockbuster movie titled Sinners Like Us! Now, if only they can survive working together again.

Both are sexually charged with penned up physical attraction and both have an overflowing abundance of feelings for one another. Can they find a way to film this movie with out killing each other or will they end up back in the arms of one another again?

Childstar 1 packs a powerful punch to the system. It held me captive the entire read. I was drawn to the emotional growth in Amelia and the emotional breakdown of Noah. I enjoyed every second of this bad boy and beautiful girl coming apart while being pulled together. The sexual chemistry between the two was explosive and yet equally as remarkable was the tenderness between the two. Told in dual POV, J.J. gives us just enough of each character to feel the hurt, taste the disgust, and experience the anticipation of what could be! In true McAvoy style, as soon as you think you might have figured things out, revelations are made that will leave your jaw open and your heart rate on overdrive! I anticipate great things to come as the plot thickens with each installment!

"When it came to Noah, I was apparantly a masochist."

Overall, I highly recommend this read to anyone who enjoys a sexually charged couple, damaged characters, and suspense. I was not expecting this ending AT ALL. So be prepared because you will be DYING to get your hands on Part 2! (I know I am!) Noah and Amelia's story just proves that LOVE might be enough after all!

Elizabeth's Review~ SCREWED~ Kendall Ryan~ Contemporary Romance

"All systems are primed and ready to go. I must seek and plunder."-Hayden

Screwed is a truly delightful read full of witty banter, clever dialogue, and likable characters. Like a package of pop rock candy it pops and gives you a shot of sugar to the system and leaves you floating on a sugar high!

Emery is a transplant to the big bad HOLLYWOOD! Upon moving into her new apartment complex, a neighbor warns her to stay away from the apartment complex "bad boy" Hayden. Not only is Hayden a well known "man-whore" but he also is her neighbor AND owns the apartment complex. Although Emery isn't looking for love, her attraction to the infamous bad boy is instant.

"Has my vagina now shame? There are probably cooties crawling up and down that overused flagpole."-Emery

Hayden recognizes the new tenant right away. Observing her being warned by a former flame, he immediately goes in for the kill. Despite the warning of his best friend and business partner, Hayden makes a "friend date" with Emory to show her around the town.

"Doesn't anyone think I can keep my dick in my pants? It only makes me want to prove them all wrong."-Hayden

Emery is all business. She is studying to pass her bar exam and wants nothing to do with Hayden. After some persistent behavior, Emery decides to take Hayden up on his offer. They begin to spend time together as friends. Before long the friendship blooms into more. Will Emery be able to tame this bad boy?

Screwed is simply hilarious! Although the neighbor "bad boy" falls in love with the good girl has been done before, I found this read to be unique because of the smooth tempo of the read and the well crafted text. I thoroughly enjoyed the main characters and the supporting characters really enhanced the story. Told in dual POV, we get a glimpse of the transformation taking place for both Emery and Hayden. Additionally, the steamy scenes were smokin' hot!!!! Although the build up was a bit long for my taste, when these two finally came together it was explosive. I thoroughly enjoyed the natural setting of the story and the way in which their relationship progressed. I only wish that there would have been more of them together at the end. Because together, it is just beautiful!

Overall, I recommend Screwed to anyone that is looking for a fun and sexy read. You will not be disappointed. Ms. Ryan brings a delectable blend of steam, likable characters, hilarious dialogue, and a great deal of heart in one beautiful package! This is one present I was happy to open up and enjoy!

Elizabeth's Review~Sinner's Steel~ Sarah Castille~ MC Romance

~4.5 Sinning Stars~

Sinner's Steel is the third book in the Sinner's Tribe Motorcycle Club. I have thoroughly enjoyed each installment in this series and Zane and Evie's story did not disappoint!

Zane aka "TRACKER" is a loyal member of the Sinner's MC! He is best friend's with the club president! The Sinner's have been at war with the JACKS MC for several years. While tracking a Sinner defector, they stumble upon a woman from Zane's past. 

"Intimacy and connection only lead to pain. And she'd had enough pain to last a lifetime."-Evie

Evie is a single mom working hard to make ends meet. She has a precious little boy and has recently started dating a biker. Coincidentally, she is Zane's long lost love and the biker she is dating is none other than VIPER (the President of the JACKS MC)!!! Needless to say, this is a recipe for disaster! As Zane and Evie begin to reconnect, secrets are revealed. Lost love is rekindled and passion is reignited (like it had never died in the first place)!

"Never in his life had he felt such a complete and utter conviction that he was exactly where he was meant to be. Here. In Evie's arms."-Zane

Sinner's Steel offers a riveting concoction of action, bikes, deception, steamy sex, romance, and brotherhood "MC style"! The Sinner's MC is a perfect series for MC lovers that like to live "a little" on the dangerous side but not tread the dark waters of MC violence. In other words, it isn't unicorns and rainbows but instead more like "Sons of Anarchy Light"! 

"Mine before. Mine now. Mine always."-Zane

The dialogue is witty, the character development is complex, and the story arc is well developed. Told in dual POV, Sinner's Steelis a beautiful story of redemption and second chances. I found both of the main characters to be extremely likable and well matched for one another. Additionally, Ms. Castille continues to develop the secondary characters (without hindering the plot line) in order to build anticipation for further reads in the series. Although certain elements of the plot were somewhat predictable, the manner in which the story unfolds was very entertaining! Not to mention the steam factor in this read is full speed ahead. Zane and Evie were simply HOT together!

"I don't want to hurt you."-Zane

"Only hurting that will happen is if you don't let me love you."-Evie

Overall, I highly recommend Sinner's Steel. Although it can be read as a stand alone, I recommend you read each book in the series (from the beginning) in order to truly understand the dynamics of the club as a whole. I will be watching for the release of book 4. I have no doubt this series will just continue to get better and better with each book!

Elizabeth's Review~ Spiral of Need~ Suzanne Wright~ PRN

~4.5 I NEED MORE NOW STARS~

Spiral of Need is another winner by Werewolf PRN Author Suzanne Wright! She has a formula for her alpha males and leading ladies that always draws me in and holds me captive until the last word is consumed!

As Spiral of Need begins, Ally "a seer" (a shifter wolf who has the ability to see the future) finds herself in a precarious predicament with her pack. She has been wrongly accused of injuring her BETA wolf. She is facing judgement and severe bullying by her pack mates. When Ally's childhood friend Cain hears about her troubles, he makes a call to an old friend.

Derren is the BETA wolf of the Mercury Pack. He receives word of Ally's plight. Although he is not a big fan of seers, Derren feels obligated to help her out. After he convinces his pack to take her in, he brings Ally home with him. He plans on watching over her until Cain is able to come and get her. Derren feels loyalty to his friend but is leery of Ally! To his surprise, she is equally as concerned with HIS presence.

"Remember: don't think about running. You wouldn't get far anyway. I have your scent."-Derren

"Let me assure you that if at any point I do decide to leave here, that's exactly what I'll do. But I won't run. I'll walk right on out of here while you watch."-Ally

Ally and Derren are an anomaly. Although Derren has a dislike for Ally's type, he is still drawn to her because she is a strong shifter wolf. Ally is a bit of a loner and yet, she finds herself enjoying Derren's company. The relationship builds at a decent tempo and the dialogue is full of witty banter between the two. 

In true Suzanne Wright fashion, we have a heavy dosage of maximum steam. The sexual tension between Derren and Ally doesn't last too long. They quickly recognize that they are attracted to one another and additionally, they are very compatible. 

"He kept her so flush against him, it was almost hard to breathe. His hands were firm, purposeful, and possessive as they roved and clutched her hard enough to bruise."

If you have read a Wright book before, you might be wondering if they Derren and Ally are "true mates". Part of the "extra" surprise with this read is the fun of trying to figure that out!

"Understand this, Ally. There is very little I consider an obstacle when I want something. And when I want something as badly as I want you, I won't let anything or anyone keep me from it."-Derren

Spiral of Need brings back some favorite characters from the Phoenix Pack as well as giving readers the opportunity to get to know the shifter wolves of the Mercury Pack! Ms. Wright offers a perfect blend of action, passion, and romance! PRN lovers beware~this series is bound to be just as addictive as the first! If you are a fan of "possessive alphas", Derren will give you everything you are looking for!

"He bit her. Just leaned down and sank his teeth into the crook of her neck, making Ally gasp in shock and pleasure. At the same time, his hand snaked under her T-shirt and closed around her breast; it was a hold so possessive, she reflexively growled in warning despite how good it felt. He released a growl of his own, rebelliously gripper her tighter."

Told in dual POV with narration, Spiral of Need can be read as a stand alone! The characters are complex and well developed. Any (and all) background knowledge was covered well so rest assured you will get the full experience when you pick up this book.

Overall, I highly recommend this read! I thoroughly enjoy Ms. Wright's writing style, strong alpha males, and their equally strong female counter parts. The action, romance, and steamy scenes will keep you engaged the entire read! Now, I just have to wait patiently for the next shifter story! Well done, Ms. Wright! Well done!

Elizabeth's Review~Unhidden~ Dina Given~ PRN/SCI-Fi/ACTION

"The Battle was about to begin...."

Unhidden is the first book in The Gatekeeper Series. This book sets the questions and answers of the who, what, when, where, and why of a supernatural place with many worlds. Dina Given paints a tapestry of many different creatures vying to take power and overcome their enemies!

Emma is a strong military operative. She has a few close friends that offer her love and support. She finds solace in many men and in her home in the BIG APPLE. When a mission goes terribly wrong, Emma is injured and her life is changed forever.

She meets a man that on one hand seems to be in love with her and yet, he is continuously trying to kill her. Emma spends the majority of this book trying to figure out who she really is. Who her friends are and overcoming the deadly creatures that want to overtake her.

"I don't think you would or could. After all, you still love me. Fortunately, I don't have such emotional weaknesses and plan to kill you without any remorse whatsoever."-Zane

Unhidden is told in multiple POV. The action is intense. The characters are complex and the physical descriptions of the places, sights, and sounds are described down to the detail. The only detraction for me in this read was the lack of physical connection between Emma and Zane. I understood the need to build the suspense in their relationship and yet, I am a romance lover at heart. I would have loved for the connection between the two to have been longer and a more prominent element of the read!

"I didn't know where that was; however, for some reason, I trusted him. I would figure the rest out later."-Emma

I highly recommend Unhidden to action/Sci-Fi/PRN fans! This book has vampires, demons, elves, evil spirits, dragons, and many more mythical creatures. The author does a fantastic job drawing you in as you take off on this magical read! Just be aware the love story is definitely a background element in this read. Still, I look forward to reading more of Emma's journey of discovery, her burning connection with Zane, and her quest to find peace. Emma is one amazing heroine!
