KIM'S REVIEW~TO MY HERO by Danielle Sibarium

It would’ve been different if I had courage, even an ounce of it. But I was a coward from the day I met you, Ryan Crowley. I still am. In the end it doesn’t matter. The bottom line is the same. It’s my fault.

When the unthinkable happens Carly Cavanough is left beaten, betrayed, and devastated. Her best friend doesn’t understand. Her parents won’t listen. Everyone in her life turns against her. She’s alone. Completely alone, except for Ryan Crowley, the boy she’s been crushing on for years. She won’t admit to him what she can’t admit to herself. But he understands without words. He knows more about what she’s going through than she can possibly imagine and he knows what it will take to start the healing.

With Ryan’s help Carly begins to piece together the fragments of her once perfect life and embarks on a journey of love and healing, just long enough for the rug to be pulled out from under her again. Can she find the strength and will to pull herself together to save Ryan and herself when their lives are on the line?

WOW!!! I was NOT sure in the beginning when I started reading this book if I would make it through it or not, due to the fact, that she was telling her story in 1st & 2nd person. It was distracting in the beginning but I figured out eventually why she told the story the way she did!! KUDOS to you, Danielle!!

Carly Cavanough & Ryan Crowley are two seniors in high school with only a couple of weeks left before graduating. These two have been close friends for awhile & care deeply for one another, BUT neither one knows how the other one feels. One New Years Eve, Carly & Ryan were supposed to spend it together...like on a date, but because her dad started putting his work before his famiy, Carley had to spend it with a client of her dads. Their son Will becomes infatuiated with Carley & gives her a KISS at midnight. Carly wanted it to be Ryan that had kissed her.

One night while at a party at her NOW boyfriends house, Carly comes face to face with Ryan. Carly & Ryan hadn't spoken in months & they try & talk about what happened that got them to this place they are at now...then HE walks up and interrupts them. Will is NOT happy to see Carly talking to Ryan so he ends their conversation by basically telling him to TAKE A HIKE. Ryan doesn't blink an eye & he will move when he dang well pleases. Carly is NOT happy with Will. Ryan kisses Carley on the cheek & then leaves.

Carly decides that she needs to be alone & get away from the craziness!!! But, little did she know that her life is about to change.... & boy does it ever change!!! I hate what happened to Carly & I hate how her parents turned their backs on her as well as her best friend. Ryan NEVER left her side. He alone & with some help from Carly, herself, brings some life back in to her.

Carly feels abandoned by her parents. They have completely turned on her & she wishes that things would go back to the way they use to be. Her dad blames her for their hardships because she was NOT doing her part. He wanted her with Will ( Scumbag) whose father owned a chain of clothing stores. Will's father was a prominent client of Carly's dad He HAD to cater to them...& he DEFINITELY did!!!!

Carly's parents eyes were finally fully opened to what had been going on right in front of them!! It took a tragedy for them to see it! Carly has a lot of healing to do to overcome her ordeal. She is a strong young lady who has a wonderful guy who loves her unconditionally!! Those two will face many more obstacles...Im sure but i feel they will overcome anything & everything thrown at them. I don't want to give too much away about this book because it is a hard one to review. Not because it's not good...because it is.. It's just a hard one to review. Once you read it, you're gonna love it ;)

CAMI'S REVIEW~BULLY by Penelope Douglas

My name is Tate. He doesn't call me that, though. He would never refer to me so informally, if he referred to me at all. No, he'll barely even speak to me.

But he still won't leave me alone.

We were best friends once. Then he turned on me and made it his mission to ruin my life. I've been humiliated, shut out, and gossiped about all through high school. His pranks and rumors got more sadistic as time wore on, and I made myself sick trying to stay out of his way. I even went to France for a year, just to avoid him.

But I'm done hiding from him now, and there's no way in hell I'll allow him to ruin my senior year. He might not have changed, but I have. It's time to fight back.

WOWZA!!!!! 5 "Crazie" Stars!!

With so many great NA books out there right now, I have to say that this is one of the absolute BEST!!!!!!!!

Jared and Tatum were best friends all through childhood, until one summer Jared goes away to visit his dad. The boy that comes back, is not the same best friend that Tatum has grown to love. This Jared is cruel and makes it his mission to embarrass her and she has no idea why.

With her father working overseas and her mother gone from cancer
"Tate" decides to go study in France for a year; something her mother would have wanted her to do. But when she returns for her senior year of high school she quickly finds out some things are still the same, yet she is still determined to avoid and ignore Jared for the rest of the school year.
(Oh, did I forget to mention that Jared is her next door neighbor? Yep, kinda hard to avoid the neighbor finding out you're back!)

But a year in France has changed Tate. When her best, and only friend K.C. suggests its time she fights back, she decides to take the suggestion. And what better time than when her "neighbor" decides to throw a party.
Between Jared and Madoc (Jared's best friend and fellow tormentor), they give...she takes...and now Tate is DONE putting up with their crap and starts to fight back! But as much as she hates Jared, there is still a pull to him she can't explain.

Once Tate starts sticking up for herself, the dynamics between the two start to change. Not of course with out a little more drama. Jared starts to try and get close with K.C.,
which of course is to piss Tate off.
Once secrets are revealed, can Tate find a way to forgive her "bully"? Or will she become one herself?

I know some people may have a problem with how Jared bullies Tate, but deep down you know there are underlying issues that need to be addressed. I absolutely LOVED that when Tate came back from France she finally found a backbone and turned into a total badass heroine! The electricity between these two "zinged" off the pages!!! I have to say, that I fell for Jared from the beginning. Even through his pranks, you could feel the undercurrent of his true feelings for Tate.

Although, I did feel at times Tate was a little too forgiving. Like with her bestie K.C.....
Had that been my BFF that started hanging with my tormentor, I would not have been so quick to forgive. Just like the "bro-code", there is also a "girl-code". DO NOT hang with thy enemy!! But of course it just added to the story! ;)

I am an angst lover....bring it on....the more the merrier!! And man oh man, did this book deliver!!! I was completely sucked into this story from the very first page! This is one book that I will be reading over and over. An absolute re-read and a DEFINITE 5 "Crazie" stars kind of book!!!!

CAMI'S REVIEW~FALLEN CREST FAMILY by Tijan

Sometimes in a sequel book I tend to become bored with the main characters after they have finally gotten together. The chase is over, yes there may be other contributing factors, but you just lose that initial tingly feeling in the pit of your stomach every time they come together. I can honestly say, that is NOT the case in this book!!!

Sam and Mason are now together and Mason wants everyone to know it.
Although we don't see the "I don't give a shit"attitude from Sam in this book as much as we did in FCH, she dealing with a lot of issues with her mother. And starting to have memories of things that happened when she was little. This explains why she is the way she is. And why she has the itching need to go for a run and why she is also scared of her " bat shit CRAZY" mother.

Mason of course continues to be her rock. Along with Logan who is also there to help protect her from her mother. But when mommy dearest issues an ultimatum, the three of them are torn apart. However, being torn apart only strengthens their bond. We also get to see a "softer" side to Mason. (Hence the "smiling" Mason below) ;)

Much to Mason's suggesting, Sam decides to register at Fallen Crest Public and join the track team. She also meets a new friend she didn't realize she needed when she takes a waitressing job at a local diner/bar. But after meeting Heather and finding out she also attends FCP, she knows that she will need as many friends as she can get, especially,if she's going to attend school there as Mason Kade's girlfriend. Can I just say,I absolutely LOVE Heather?! I love her banter and witty remarks to Logan. Heather's feistiness will also come in handy when trying to help Sam with the "Elite" girls later on.

Mason is now more than ever had over heels in love with Sam and will do whatever it takes to protect her. Logan is still up to his antics, but also fiercely protective over Sam and loyal to his brother. And now Nate has returned. Although, Nate and Logan are not always seeing eye to eye, the fearsome foursome are together and seem to be unstoppable.

But just when you think all is well that ends well. Think again!!
A blast from the past walks in and threatens to tear apart everything Mason has tried so hard to put back together. I'm also not completely trusting of Nate yet. I am fiercely protective of my Logan and I don't care for the way Nate's been treating him! :p

The ending is not a cliffy, more like a continuation of the story. This series could go on and on and on and I would read it and devour it like I did the very first one!! I look forward to continuing with the gang when Fallen Crest Public is released.

Fallen Crest Family gets 5 BIG "Crazie" stars!!!!!! ~Cami

KIM'S REVIEW~FINDING OBSCURITY by Emma Shade

Lily Canton always knew she was unique.

After she loses everything she has ever cared about ten years ago, Lily decides its time to find answers about her past and why she has special powers. But when you can’t control seeing the future, and you hold enough electricity inside you to black out an entire city block, it doesn’t always make life easy.

She swore she would never care about anyone ever again after that fateful day so long ago. Then she meets sexy club owner, Ashton Ryder. Lily can’t afford to fall for Ashton. Then there is handsome, powerful, Blake Moore, who wants to help her with more than just her powers. She has to learn to trust people and let them into her heart, even as things spiral out of control.

Not only does she learn Ashton has a secret that will make her question everything she ever thought was real, but Lily finds out that her birth parents are anything but ordinary. Just when Lily thinks she has everything figured out, someone is determined to destroy her – because she isn’t supposed to be alive.

Okay, I'm not sure where to start with this review. First, I would like to say that I'm grateful that I was a beta reader for this book & I'm AMAZED at how engrossed I became with this story & these characters. Emma Shade did a great job getting right to it from the very beginning & I was drawn right in from the very start. The suspense, the drama & the HOTTNESS seeped right out from the book...& when I say HOTTNESS, I mean SIZZLING HOTTNESS ;).

Lily Canton is a beautiful young lady who has dealt internally with issues that she can not explain & she is on a mission to find out about her past & what her past means for her future. She was not expecting to come in contact nor was she looking or wanting to come in to contact with the most GORGEOUS man that she's ever seen....SWOON ;). & the name would be Ashton Ryder.

Ashton Ryder is the SEXY club owner that Lily happens to come across one night at his club when she uses a fake name that her best friend(only friend) Sam gave her to use to gain entrance into his club. It's NOT a pleasant encounter when Lily has to face Ashton & club bouncers because she had deceived her way into the club. NOPE, not pleasant at all!! Lily & Aston are drawn to one another & Lily knows that some things are just OFF but she just can't put her finger on it. A situation occurs between Lily & one of the bouncers & Lily takes off leaving the club & Ashton behind. She knows NOW, without a doubt, that she is UNIQUE...& now her mission is to find the missing pieces of her past & hoping to find the answers to why she is so different!!

Sexy & powerful, Blake Moore, now enters & he has his eyes set on Lily!! He is unique in the same way that Lily is unique & he wants to help her control her special powers but he also has an agenda!! He WANTS HER for himself...OR DOES HE!! Blake knows things & there are secrets that he & Ashton are both keeping from Lily. She really doesn't know who to trust because she knows that she is NOT supposed to be alive & that someone is out there that wants her dead.

From the very beginning to the very end, I was on the edge of my seat. The suspense was killing me & I COULD NOT wait to get to the end to find out WHAT IN THE HECK was going on. I would think okay, it's this & then would change my mind & think NO it's this... This is a book that EVERYONE needs to read. This is my 2nd Paranormal read & I LOVED IT.. But, DANG IT, Emma Shade...you've left me with a frickin cliffhanger && i LOVE IT!! GREAT AUTHOR & a GREAT READ ;)). You ROCK GIRL!!!! NOW, hurry up with the 2nd book because I'm DYIN' here ;)

REVIEW.....

Let me start off by saying that this book was a HUGE surprise to me! I am not usually into paranormal romances, (the only one I've read was Twilight) so I was quite skeptical when I started reading this book.
With that being said, I believe this book will resonate with readers of all genres. Yes it is THAT good!!! The writing is impeccable, and the drama is intense!! This was a "alert the family to fend for themselves until I'm done reading" type of book!

In high school Lily was always known as a freak to her family and friends. After a terrible accident that causes her to lose the only person she ever truly loved, Lily sets out to find the truth about her abilities and closes herself off to the feelings of becoming close to anyone.

Enter Ashton, the sexy club owner with a few secrets of his own. At their first encounter the connection is instantaneous and intense!! Sparks fly....literally! Ashton wants Lily and wastes no time making his move.

Then Lily meets Blake and finds they both share the same powers.
Lily's powers are getting stronger and harder to control and Blake wants to help her control her powers, but he also warns her to stay away from Ashton.

I was so torn reading this book!! One minute I was wanting her to trust and be with Ashton, but the next, I wasn't sure I fully trusted him and then wanted her to be with Blake! It was so confusingly good!! And then,I won't even start about Ashton's secret and the hatred between Ashton and Blake!

All is not as it seems with these men and someone is after Lily. Blake and Ashton vow to keep her safe. Once the secrets are uncovered, Lily has a hard time trying to decide who to trust.( I was right there with ya sister!) She also has a hard time trying to decide who she is more attracted to...Blake or Ashton. ( Yep, me too!) Blake...with whom she shares a similar power with and makes her feel safe? (..swoon..) Or Ashton.....the man that can make her short circuit by just walking in the room? (Taylor Swift's "Sparks Fly" song worthy!)

This book kept me on the edge of my seat the ENTIRE time! Just as I thought I had it figured out, I was back at square one! The sexual attraction between the characters was intense! There is so much more to this story but I just don't want to give it all away!
This book does end with a cliffy, and boy oh boy does Emma Shade know how to write a cliffhanger! Actually, it's more like a complete drop off the side of the hill with nothing to grab on to! Shocking is all I can say! It left me wanting book #2 right now!!!

We rate Finding Obscurity 5 "Crazie" stars!! This is a fantastic debut novel by Emma Shade that you do not want to miss reading!!

CAMI'S REVIEW~EMERGE by S.E. Hall

Emerge is going on my top 5 reads of the year!! If you enjoy the NA genre, this is one of the best ones out there! Once I started reading this story I was hooked!

Emerge is Laney Walker's story; an 18 yr old quick witted, athletic, southern girl who lets few get too close and uses her sarcastic zingers to deflect most situations. Laney grew up without her mom, but has an amazing father who has always been there for her. She is your typical girl next door, confident on the outside, but seems to still struggle internally.

Meet Evan Allen. Evan has been Laney's best friend since they were 10 yrs old and he decided it was his job to protect Laney. Evan is Laney's rock, her Mr. Grain of Salt.

Evan has always hidden his love for Laney and decides to tell her. But when Laney doesn't get accepted to the same college as Evan, their new found love is cut short. Laney is devastated as she heads to Southern college, while her best friend Kaitlyn and Evan head to UGA. But Evan professes his never ending love for Laney will not falter while they are apart.

Enter Dane Kendrick. WOWZA!!!! One of the new faces she meets while in her new co-ed dorms. The attraction they both feel is immediate and intense! But Dane is not as forthcoming about his past as Laney would like. Not to mention she is still heartbroken about losing her best friend/ boyfriend Evan. But Dane awakens something new and unexpected in her she never new exsisted. This is where things get complicated. Is Evan her first and true love, or is the intense connection she feels for Dane a once in a lifetime kind of love?

I absolutely devoured this story! By the middle of the book I was so torn between Evan and Dane I wanted to cry! I love the way the author used everyones POV's. It always helps to see where everyone is coming from, before I decide who I'm really rooting for!
Did Laney's naitivity drive me nuts sometimes? YES!!!
Did I want to pull my hair out at Dane's aloofness? YES!! But those are the things that create the drama. Crazy kids! ;) The rest of "The Crew" will have you laughing out loud with their witty banter!!

This is Laney's coming of age journey...starting at a new college, with a new softball team and a quirky roommate.
A tale of friendship, loyalty, first love, primal love and...life.

This is not a cliffhanger ending, but there will be more books in the series. This is a MUST read, so be sure to add it to your bookshelf!! I would rate this book 5 FANTASTIC STARS! ~Cami
